Glenn and Shirley Demmy, of Ephrata, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary recently.
They were married in the Akron United Zion Church by Glenn’s uncle, the late Rev. Wesley Martin, on July 22, 1951.
They began their lives together by farming on the family dairy farm in Lincoln, and they still reside on a piece of the farm where Glenn has lived for 86 years. Later, both retired from Sperry New Holland, where Glenn was a machinery parts specialist, and Shirley worked in the international department.
Glenn likes staying at home, growing vegetables in the garden, and doing yard work. Shirley enjoys visiting, phoning, or corresponding with friends and family. She also likes to clean, and keeps an immaculate house. Both enjoy attending the Berean Bible Church,
Their children, Carol and Randy, celebrated the occasion by taking them out to dinner at one of their favorite restaurants. Other friends and relatives honored them with dinner invitations as well.
