Leon Z. and Dolores F. (Eberly) Weaver celebrated 50 years of marriage on Aug.13.
The couple met on a blind date, and were married at Faith Temple in Reamstown, on Aug. 13, 1966.
Leon is currently an ordained minister through Global Christian Ministry Forum, and they both attend Harvest Fellowship, where he serves as an elder and the pastor of the outreach and senior ministry. Leon is also the overseer of the Market Place Ministry at Green Dragon. He drives part time for Colonial Lodge, and volunteers for many outreach programs. Leon worked 25 years at Skyline Homes and 10 years at Lamtech. In his spare time, he enjoys watching Philly sport teams and spending time with his grandkids and family.
Dolores is employed by Weaver Markets in Adamstown and has worked in the produce department for 33 years. She enjoys bird watching, flowers, and reading a good book. While helping Leon, she too enjoys spending time with her grandkids and family.
Leon and Dolores are the parents of two children: Sharon, married to Brian Weaver, Denver; and Noel, Ephrata. They have five grandchildren: Jordan, Justine, Derek, Ryan, and Christina.
Leon and Dolores marked the milestone by taking a 3½-week trip to the West Coast, and were surprised by a drop in party by friends and family.
