John Womer and Peggy Jane Fenstermacher, of Stevens, were married Dec. 5, 1959 in John’s hometown of Zerbe.

They have three children: Jody Galyon (wife of Scott); Tammy Womer; and John R. Womer (husband of Tammy); three grandsons: Brandon Galyon, Derek Galyon, Evan Womer; and a granddaughter: Emily Womer.

John served in the United States Navy during the Cold War from 1955 to 1958. He worked at Bethlehem Steel/Grace Mines, MSHA, OSHA, and retired from High Industries. He has enjoyed gardening, hunting, and continues to run a small bicycle shop.

Peggy loves Elvis Presley, Penn State Football, and creating various crafts. Peggy is the heart of the family, making certain that everyone gets together regularly throughout the year. There are always lots of pictures taken &tstr; sometimes against your will &tstr; along with laughs, hugs, and plenty of good food.

John and Peggy have taken multiple trips to Tennessee to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and Memphis. They enjoyed Graceland, The Grand Ole Opry, Dollywood, and Dolly Parton’s Dixieland Stampede.

John and Peggy are greatly loved by their family, who wish them a wonderful 60th wedding anniversary.
