Marvin and Betty (Nolt) Sauder will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary this Saturday.
They were married at Metzler Mennonite Church on April 9, 1966. Bishop Amos H. Sauder, father of the groom, officiated.
The Sauders are members of the Metzler Mennonite Church. They were dairy farmers for 33 years. Marvin drives school bus, and is in his 40th year of driving for Groff Inc. in Ephrata Area School District. He works part time at Binkley and Hurst, LP. Betty works at Landis Homes in dining services.
The couple have also enjoyed traveling, including trips to Israel, the Nethelannds, France and Moldova.
Betty and Marvin have four children: Randall, husband of Lisa; Teresa, wife of Wesley Siegrist; Brian, husband of Lynette; and Kimberly, wife of Jonathan Stoeckel. They have six grandsons and four granddaughters: Jared, Derek, and Austin Sauder; Nathan, Renee, and Matthew Seigrist; Brandon and Katelyn Sauder; and Elizabeth and Sarah Stoeckel.
This summer, when the whole family is in the area, the Sauders plan to celebrate with an anniversary dinner with everyone at a local restaurant.
